About us:

Nick and I have been married for almost 14 years. We were high school/ college sweethearts. What an amazing roller coaster of a journey it has been. On our 3rd wedding anniversary our lives forever changed as we welcomed Dawson Layne into the world. He has changed and blessed our lives so much. Now 10 years old, Dawson is the wittiest, most comical, loving, compassionate boy with the biggest love for soccer. Our lives wouldn’t be complete with the one little girl that keeps us on our toes and in line. Ellie Anna is 5 years old, and is a blessing in more ways than we can count. She is incredibly funny, shy, very loving, and is one of a kind. For the past 7 years we have called San Antonio, Texas our home. It was quite the journey and we loved every minute calling it our home. Our friendships and memories in Texas will last a life time. Our first true “Home” is Arkansas. It is where we were born and raised. It’s not only our home state, it’s the state that holds our family and so many friends. Follow us on our journey as we move from our second home state of Texas to across the world to Singapore. We have stepped out of our comfort zone once again to follow our hearts and serve the Lord. We are taking a leap of FAITH. For the next two years we will work as missionary teachers at an international school in Singapore (International Community School). We have the amazing honor to witness to children and share God’s love. Our students are coming from countries all over the world and from every walk of life. It’s the biggest blessing to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve some of most special student’s in the world.

Please keep us in your prayers as we start this new journey.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.  Proverbs 3:5-6

About Chelsea:

I graduated college from Arkansas State University with a degree in Radio/ TV Broadcast News. After college I worked as a Television News Producer for KARK 4 News in Little Rock, Arkansas. I love news, politics..etc. (a journalist and news junkie at heart). Unfortunately, due to the demanding hours and the shift I was working, there came a time where I had to give up my passion for the business and focus 100% on my family. A few months after realizing being a stay at home wasn’t for me, I was blessed with an amazing opportunity to be a full time mommy /part-time employee. I went to work for Think Advertising in Searcy, Arkansas as the production coordinator & media buyer.

After a few years, life took us from Searcy to San Antonio. While in San Antonio I continued to work for Think. Shortly after our miracle, Ellie Anna was born. I knew it was time to follow my calling. In 2015 I earned my teaching certification in Special Education. Over the past 4 years I have had the honor of teaching some of the most amazing students who have forever changed my life.

About Nick:

Nick graduated college from Arkansas State University with a degree in Chemistry. For 9 years Nick worked in the Oil and Gas Industry as a chemical sales manager. His career took us from Arkansas to Texas. His career in oil and gas planted the foundation to where we are now. Nick truly enjoyed his career. His salary was excellent, the benefits were great and the hours were flexible at times. There was just one thing missing: having the opportunity to do work for the Lord. A simple conversation with a pastor friend forever changed Nick’s life. He was proposed the question of if he could do any job, what would it be and what’s keeping him from doing it. The conversation ended with “I believe your calling is to be a teacher. I know the money is so much less, but the work you could do serving God’s children would be remarkable.” I guess you could say now the rest is history. Nick made a huge career change and swallowed a lot of pride. He shifted his career from a chemical sales manager to a teacher. For 3 years Nick worked for the largest school district in San Antonio as a Middle School Science Teacher. He loved every minute of it. One day while he was at work, Nick asked God if teaching was all that He wanted him to do. While Nick loved where he was and the students he was teaching, he knew he could not tell them about God. Little did Nick know that this prayer would be the start of a journey halfway around the world.
